Other Professional Accomplishments

Director of Lynnfield Youth Music School

• Started program and oversaw an expansion of students who are taking private lessons outside of the school day from approximately 25 to 80.
• Began the Community Schools 4th Grade Band to offer a performing ensemble to elementary school students.
• Expanded ensemble offerings to include an Orff Percussion Ensemble, Beginning Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Chorus and 4th Grade Chorus.
• Worked with students to create original compositions both in Jazz and 4th Grade Band.
• Oversees staff of 9 teachers, interviews and hires staff, maintains budgets and pay schedules, and creates contracts.

Co-Director of High School Advisory Program

• Took leadership position when the chair left for another school system.
• Led curriculum development and implementation for school-wide advisory program.
• Coordinated and organized the school’s Advisory Field Day and Club Fair for three years.
• Actively works with colleagues and administrators to improve and implement new ideas into the advisory curriculum.

• Chair of Community Resources Committee for the NEAS&C Accreditation Process.
• Advisor for the Gay-Straight Alliance, Tri-M National Music Honor Society and After School Jam Club.
• Member of School Council.
• Member of National Honor Society Selection Committee.
• Member of Joint Evaluation Committee (helped update evaluation tool to reflect new state guidelines).
• Building Representative and Executive Board Member for the Lynnfield Teachers Association
